I made this during the lockdown, I did not have sour cream but frozen double cream.
The potatoes took a long time to cook nearly 2hours but it tasted very good. The potatoes were better the next day.

Agree – fortunately was dubious about the 30 mins cooking time. At 1 1/2 hrs atm, probably another 30 mins. 2 hrs total as you said. These recipes really annoy me. Perhaps the potatoes she have been par-cooked.
when do you use the melted butter?
